Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-Tpi1 antibody
Microtubule Associated Proteins, or MAPs, bind to the tubulin subunits of microtubule structures and regulate their functional stability. In the cell MAPs bind to monomer and multimerized tubulin. MAP binding to multimerized tubulin further stabilizes the formation of higher order microtubulin structures. MAP binding to microtubule structures is mediated through phosphorylation through Microtubule Affinity Regulated Kinase (MARK). Phosphorylation releases MAPs bound to microtubules, destabilizing the structure, driving it toward disassembly. There are predominately two MAP types, Iand II. Type II MAP includes MAP2, MAP4, and tau and is found in nervous tissue. Six tau isoforms exist in brain tissue, and they are distinguished by their number of binding domains. Three isoforms have three binding domains and the other three have four binding domains. The binding domains are located in the carboxy-terminus of the protein and are positively-charged (allowing it to bind to the negatively-charged microtubule). The isoforms with four binding domains are better at stabilizing microtubules than those with three binding domains.

Uniprot Description

TPI1: Defects in TPI1 are the cause of triosephosphate isomerase deficiency (TPI deficiency). TPI deficiency is an autosomal recessive disorder. It is the most severe clinical disorder of glycolysis. It is associated with neonatal jaundice, chronic hemolytic anemia, progressive neuromuscular dysfunction, cardiomyopathy and increased susceptibility to infection. Belongs to the triosephosphate isomerase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative promoter.

Protein type: Carbohydrate Metabolism - inositol phosphate; Isomerase; Carbohydrate Metabolism - glycolysis and gluconeogenesis; Carbohydrate Metabolism - fructose and mannose; EC 5.3.1.1

Cellular Component: extracellular space; nucleus

Molecular Function: isomerase activity; catalytic activity; triose-phosphate isomerase activity

Biological Process: pentose-phosphate shunt; embryonic development; glycolysis; metabolic process; multicellular organismal development; glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate metabolic process; glucose metabolic process; gluconeogenesis

Product Notes

The Tpi1 tpi1 (Catalog #AAA606770) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Tau, Nitrated (Tyr29) (microtubule-associated protein tau, DDPAC, FLJ31424, FTDP-17, MAPTL, MGC138549, Microtubule-associated protein tau, MSTD, MTBT1, MTBT2, Neurofibrillary tangle protein, Paired helical filament-tau, PHF-tau, PPND, tau, TAU) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Tau, Nitrated can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Tpi1 tpi1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tau, Nitrated, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
