NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a protein tyrosine phosphatase that plays a key role in the regulation of actin filaments. The encoded protein dephosphorylates and activates cofilin, which promotes actin filament depolymerization. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]
Uniprot Description
SSH2: Protein phosphatase which regulates actin filament dynamics. Dephosphorylates and activates the actin binding/depolymerizing factor cofilin, which subsequently binds to actin filaments and stimulates their disassembly. Inhibitory phosphorylation of cofilin is mediated by LIMK1, which may also be dephosphorylated and inactivated by this protein. Belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The SSH2 ssh2 (Catalog #AAA6139292) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SSH2 (Protein Phosphatase Slingshot Homolog 2, SSH-like Protein 2, SSH2L, SSH-2L, hSSH-2L, KIAA1725) APC reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SSH2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). ELISA: 1ng/ml Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SSH2 ssh2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SSH2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
