NCBI Description

This gene encodes a ubiquitous nuclear protein that stimulates both cell proliferation and differentiation. It is a member of the MADS (MCM1, Agamous, Deficiens, and SRF) box superfamily of transcription factors. This protein binds to the serum response element (SRE) in the promoter region of target genes. This protein regulates the activity of many immediate-early genes, for example c-fos, and thereby participates in cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, cell growth, and cell differentiation. This gene is the downstream target of many pathways; for example, the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway (MAPK) that acts through the ternary complex factors (TCFs). Uniprot Description

SRF: a transcription factor of the MADS domain family that binds to the serum response element (SRE). Regulates the transcription of immediate early genes including c-fos. Binds DNA as a multimer, probably a dimer.

Product Notes

The SRF srf (Catalog #AAA6242993) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SRF (Serum Response Factor, c-fos Serum Response Element-binding Transcription Factor, MADS Family Member) (Biotin) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SRF can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SRF srf for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SRF, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
