Western Blot (WB)

(The cell lysates of A549 (40ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human SNAI1 antibody (1:1000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system.)

Related Product Information for anti-SNAI1 antibody
SNAI1, also known as Snail homolog 1, is involved in the epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT), formation and maintenance of embryonic mesoderm, growth arrest, survival and cell migration. This protein binds to 3 E-boxes of the E-cadherin gene promoter and represses its transcription. Both SNAI1 and SLUG belong to the snail C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. SLUG is a transcriptional repressor, involved in the generation and migration of neural crest cells. SNAI1 is expressed in mesenchymal, epithelial cell lines and highest expression in kidney.

NCBI Description

The Drosophila embryonic protein snail is a zinc finger transcriptional repressor which downregulates the expression of ectodermal genes within the mesoderm. The nuclear protein encoded by this gene is structurally similar to the Drosophila snail protein, and is also thought to be critical for mesoderm formation in the developing embryo. At least two variants of a similar processed pseudogene have been found on chromosome 2. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Involved in induction of the epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT), formation and maintenance of embryonic mesoderm, growth arrest, survival and cell migration. Binds to 3 E-boxes of the E-cadherin/CDH1 gene promoter and to the promoters of CLDN7 and KRT8 and, in association with histone demethylase KDM1A which it recruits to the promoters, causes a decrease in dimethylated H3K4 levels and represses transcription. Associates with EGR1 and SP1 to mediate tetradecanoyl phorbol acetate (TPA)-induced up-regulation of CDKN2B, possibly by binding to the CDKN2B promoter region 5'-TCACA-3. In addition, may also activate the CDKN2B promoter by itself.

Product Notes

The SNAI1 snai1 (Catalog #AAA200311) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SNAI1 antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SNAI1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Recommended starting dilution is 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SNAI1 snai1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SNAI1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
