Related Product Information for anti-SERPINB9 antibody
Background: Proteinase inhibitor 9 (PI-9, also designated cytoplasmic antiproteinase 3, or CAP3) is a 42 kDa member of the ovalbumin family of serpins that is expressed in placenta, lung and cytotoxic lymphocytes. PI-9 is a potent inhibitor of granzyme B and of granzyme B-mediated apoptosis, and is also an inhibitor of capase-1 and, to a smaller extent, caspase-4 and caspase-8. PI-9 expression is also upregulated in response to inflammatory stimuli. This upregulation protects cells from apoptosis induced by endogenously expressed or released granzyme B, particulary during target cell killling.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the serine protease inhibitor family which are also known as serpins. The encoded protein belongs to a subfamily of intracellular serpins. This protein inhibits the activity of the effector molecule granzyme B. Overexpression of this protein may prevent cytotoxic T-lymphocytes from eliminating certain tumor cells. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 6. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2012]

Product Notes

The SERPINB9 serpinb9 (Catalog #AAA840015) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Proteinase Inhibitor 9 (PI-9) Antibody (Clone PI9-17) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Proteinase Inhibitor 9 (PI-9) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western blotting (2-4 ug/ml) and Immunohistochemistry (20 ug/ml). It recognizes 42 kDa native human PI-9 and the 63 kDa PI-9 complexed to granzyme B. Reactivity to other species has not been tested. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SERPINB9 serpinb9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Proteinase Inhibitor 9 (PI-9), Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
