Monoclonal
Specificity
The antibody is a mouse monoclonal antibody raised against PZP. It has been selected for its ability to recognize PZP in immunohistochemical staining and western blotting.
Purity/Purification
Protein A + Protein G affinity chromatography
Form/Format
Liquid
Concentration
500ug/ml (varies by lot)
Applicable Applications for anti-PZP antibody
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC)
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for frequent use. Stored at -20 degree C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is highly expressed in late-pregnancy serum and is similar in structure to alpha-2-macroglobulin. The encoded protein, which acts as a homotetramer, inhibits the activity of all four classes of proteinases. This protein contains cleavage sites for several proteinases. Upon binding of a proteinase, the conformation of this protein changes to trap the proteinase, limiting its activity. This protein appears to be elevated in the sera of presymptomatic Alzheimer's disease patients. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2016]

Uniprot Description

PZP: Is able to inhibit all four classes of proteinases by a unique 'trapping' mechanism. This protein has a peptide stretch, called the 'bait region' which contains specific cleavage sites for different proteinases. When a proteinase cleaves the bait region, a conformational change is induced in the protein which traps the proteinase. The entrapped enzyme remains active against low molecular weight substrates (activity against high molecular weight substrates is greatly reduced). Following cleavage in the bait region a thioester bond is hydrolyzed and mediates the covalent binding of the protein to the proteinase. Belongs to the protease inhibitor I39 (alpha-2- macroglobulin) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PZP pzp (Catalog #AAA2077887) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Biotin-Linked Monoclonal Antibody to Pregnancy Zone Protein (PZP) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Pregnancy Zone Protein (PZP) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PZP pzp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Pregnancy Zone Protein (PZP), Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
