NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Peroxisome proliferators include hypolipidemic drugs, herbicides, leukotriene antagonists, and plasticizers; this term arises because they induce an increase in the size and number of peroxisomes. Peroxisomes are subcellular organelles found in plants and animals that contain enzymes for respiration and for cholesterol and lipid metabolism. The action of peroxisome proliferators is thought to be mediated via specific receptors, called PPARs, which belong to the steroid hormone receptor superfamily. PPARs affect the expression of target genes involved in cell proliferation, cell differentiation and in immune and inflammation responses. Three closely related subtypes (alpha, beta/delta, and gamma) have been identified. This gene encodes the subtype PPAR-alpha, which is a nuclear transcription factor. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene, although the full-length nature of only two has been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes
The PPARA (Catalog #AAA6154288) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PPARA (Peroxisome Proliferator-activated Receptor alpha, PPAR-alpha, Nuclear Receptor Subfamily 1 Group C Member 1, NR1C1, PPAR, MGC2237, MGC2452) (HRP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PPARA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PPARA for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PPARA, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
