Preparation
This antibody was produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, recombinant Human PFDN1/Prefoldin subunit 1 (rh PFDN1/Prefoldin subunit 1). The IgG fraction of the cell culture supernatant was purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Preparation and Storage
This antibody can be stored at 2-8 degree C for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Preservative-Free. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

PFDN1 expression positively correlated with tumor size and tumor invasion. The inhibitory effect of PFDN1 on tumor cell growth and motility was partially due to G2/M cell cycle blockage and cytoskeletal deficiency. PFDN1 was involved in the progression of CRC, and provide new insights into PFDN1 as a potential therapeutic target for colorectal cancer (CRC) treatment.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the prefoldin beta subunit family. The encoded protein is one of six subunits of prefoldin, a molecular chaperone complex that binds and stabilizes newly synthesized polypeptides, thereby allowing them to fold correctly. The complex, consisting of two alpha and four beta subunits, forms a double beta barrel assembly with six protruding coiled-coils. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

PFDN1: Binds specifically to cytosolic chaperonin (c-CPN) and transfers target proteins to it. Binds to nascent polypeptide chain and promotes folding in an environment in which there are many competing pathways for nonnative proteins. Belongs to the prefoldin subunit beta family.

Protein type: Chaperone

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q31

Cellular Component: prefoldin complex

Molecular Function: unfolded protein binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: 'de novo' posttranslational protein folding; telencephalon development; cellular protein metabolic process; B cell activation; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; protein folding; cerebellum development; actin cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis; cell cycle

Product Notes

The PFDN1 pfdn1 (Catalog #AAA8107520) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-PFDN1 Antibody, Mouse Monoclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PFDN1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 ELISA: 1:1000-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PFDN1 pfdn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PFDN1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
