Related Product Information for anti-MYL2 antibody
Description: MYL2(myosin, light chain 2, regulatory, cardiac, slow), also known as MLC-2, MLC2v. Entrez protein NP_000423. MYL2 associated with cardiac myosin beta (or slow) heavy chain. Ca+ triggers the phosphorylation of regulatory light chain that in turn triggers contraction. It is an hexamer of two heavy chains and four light chains that is predominantly expressed in adult cardiac ventricle muscle.
Function: Myosin regulatory subunit that plays an important role in regulation of both smooth muscle and nonmuscle cell contractile activity via its phosphorylation. Implicated in cytokinesis, receptor capping, and cell locomotion.
Subunit Structure: Myosin is a hexamer of 2 heavy chains and 4 light chains: interacts with myosin heavy chain MYO19.
Post-translational Modifications: Phosphorylation increases the actin-activated myosin ATPase activity and thereby regulates the contractile activity. It is required to generate the driving force in the migration of the cells but not necessary for localization of myosin-2 at the leading edge.

NCBI Description

Myosin, a structural component of muscle, consists of two heavy chains and four light chains. The protein encoded by this gene is a myosin light chain that may regulate muscle contraction by modulating the ATPase activity of myosin heads. The encoded protein binds calcium and is activated by myosin light chain kinase. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Myosin regulatory subunit that plays an important role in regulation of both smooth muscle and nonmuscle cell contractile activity via its phosphorylation. Implicated in cytokinesis, receptor capping, and cell locomotion.

Product Notes

The MYL2 myl9 (Catalog #AAA9602378) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MYL2 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MYL2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA). ELISA: 1:10000 WB: 1:500-1:2000 IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MYL2 myl9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MYL2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
