Related Product Information for anti-MYF6 antibody
Description: The protein encoded by this intronless gene is a bZIP transcription factor which can bind as a homodimer to certain promoters and enhancers. It can also form heterodimers with the related proteins CEBP-beta and CEBP-gamma. The encoded protein has been shown to bind to the promoter and modulate the expression of the gene encoding leptin, a protein that plays an important role in body weight homeostasis. Also, the encoded protein can interact with CDK2 and CDK4, thereby inhibiting these kinases and causing growth arrest in cultured cells.
Function: Involved in muscle differentiation (myogenic factor). Induces fibroblasts to differentiate into myoblasts. Probable sequence specific DNA-binding protein.
Subunit Structure: Efficient DNA binding requires dimerization with another bHLH protein. Interacts with CSRP3.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a probable basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) DNA binding protein involved in muscle differentiation. The encoded protein likely acts as a heterodimer with another bHLH protein. Defects in this gene are a cause of autosomal dominant centronuclear myopathy (ADCNM). [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Uniprot Description

Involved in muscle differentiation (myogenic factor). Induces fibroblasts to differentiate into myoblasts. Probable sequence specific DNA-binding protein.

Product Notes

The MYF6 myf6 (Catalog #AAA9602795) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MYF6 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MYF6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA). ELISA: 1:10000 WB: 1:500-1:2000 IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MYF6 myf6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MYF6, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
