Related Product Information for anti-MIF antibody
MIgration inhibitory factor-related proteins -8 and -14 belong to the S-100 family of calcium binding proteins associated with myeloid cell differentiation. They are highly expressed in resting neutrophils, keratinocytes (particularly in psoriasis), in infiltrating tissue macrophages and on epithelial cells in active inflammatory disease. The heterogeneity of macrophage subpopulations in chronic or acute inflammation is reflected by different expression of MRP8 and MRP14. Phagocytes expressing MRP8 and MRP14 belong to the early inflitrating cells while MRP8 alone is found in chronic inflammatory tissues. The partially antagonistic functions of MRP8, MRP14 and of the Ca2+ dependent MRP8/14 heterocomplex make them versatile mediators.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a lymphokine involved in cell-mediated immunity, immunoregulation, and inflammation. It plays a role in the regulation of macrophage function in host defense through the suppression of anti-inflammatory effects of glucocorticoids. This lymphokine and the JAB1 protein form a complex in the cytosol near the peripheral plasma membrane, which may indicate an additional role in integrin signaling pathways. Uniprot Description

MIF: a lymphokine involved in cell-mediated immunity, immunoregulation, and inflammation. Also acts as a phenylpyruvate tautomerase.

Product Notes

The MIF mif (Catalog #AAA600236) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Migration Inhibitory Factor Related Proteins 8 and 14 (MIF, MRP 8 and 14) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Migration Inhibitory Factor Related Proteins 8 and 14 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry and Western Blot. Dilution: Immunocytochemistry: Ethanol fixed cells Western Blot: Non-reduced gels. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MIF mif for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Migration Inhibitory Factor Related Proteins 8 and 14, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
