NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of a family of membrane glycoproteins. This glycoprotein provides selectins with carbohydrate ligands. It may also play a role in tumor cell metastasis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins. Also implicated in tumor cell metastasis.

Subcellular location: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Endosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Lysosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Late endosome. Note: This protein shuttles between lysosomes, endosomes, and the plasma membrane. Colocalizes with OSBPL1A at the late endosome. Ref.13 Ref.14

Post-translational modification: O- and N-glycosylated; some of the 18 N-linked glycans are polylactosaminoglycans. Ref.10 Ref.11

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the LAMP family.

Product Notes

The LAMP1 lamp1 (Catalog #AAA500045) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Lysosomal Associated Membrane Protein 1 (LAMP1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's LAMP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot. WB: 1:5,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LAMP1 lamp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LAMP1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
