Source Note
Anti-human IRF-3 antibody, clone 3F10, is derived from hybridization of mouse SP2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human IRF-3 protein.
Biological Significance
Members of the Interferon regulatory factor (IRF) family regulate gene expression critical to immune response, hemopoiesis, and proliferation. IRF-3 is a member of the IRF family, and is distinct from other family members. Its transcriptional activity is regulated solely by posttranslational modifications. It plays a crucial role in activation of innate immunity and inflammation in response to viral infection.
Cross-Reactivity
To be determined by end-user.
Immunogen
IRF3 antibody was raised in mouse using recombinant human IRF-3(108-166aa) purified from E Coli as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for short term storage. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the interferon regulatory transcription factor (IRF) family. The encoded protein is found in an inactive cytoplasmic form that upon serine/threonine phosphorylation forms a complex with CREBBP. This complex translocates to the nucleus and activates the transcription of interferons alpha and beta, as well as other interferon-induced genes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2011]

Uniprot Description

IRF3: interferon regulatory factor 3, a member of the interferon regulatory transcription factor (IRF) family. IRF3 is found in an inactive cytoplasmic form that upon serine/threonine phosphorylation forms a complex with CREBBP. This complex translocates to the nucleus and activates the transcription of interferons alpha and beta, as well as other interferon-induced genes.

Product Notes

The IRF3 irf3 (Catalog #AAA831100) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The IRF3 antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's IRF3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:1,000-1:2,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IRF3 irf3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IRF3, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
