Related Product Information for anti-IL6R antibody
Interleukin 6 receptor (IL-6R) also known as CD126 (Cluster of Differentiation 126) is a type I cytokine receptor. The low concentration of a soluble form of IL-6 receptor (SIL-6R) acts as an agonist of IL-6 activity. In the IL-6R/CD126/IL6R system, both a membrane-bound IL-6R and a SIL-6R protein can mediate IL-6 signals into the cells through the interaction of gp130. The resulting IL-6/sIL-6R protein complex is also capable of binding to gp130 and inducing intracellular signaling. Through this so-called 'trans-signaling' mechanism, IL-6 can stimulate cells that lack an endogenous mIL-6R. High levels of IL-6 and SIL-6R have been reported in several chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases as well as in cancer.

Uniprot Description

IL6R: Part of the receptor for interleukin 6. Binds to IL6 with low affinity, but does not transduce a signal. Signal activation necessitate an association with IL6ST. Activation may lead to the regulation of the immune response, acute-phase reactions and hematopoiesis. Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 3 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, cytokine

Cellular Component: apical plasma membrane; cell surface; extracellular region; extracellular space; integral to membrane; interleukin-6 receptor complex; membrane

Product Notes

The IL6R il6ra (Catalog #AAA8111314) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Recombinant Anti-IL-6R Antibody (APC), Rabbit Monoclonal reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's IL-6R can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS/FCM). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL6R il6ra for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-6R, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
