COS-expressed recombinant human IL-13
Characterization
To ensure acceptable performance, each batch of product is tested in a sandwich ELISA to conform to characteristics of a standard reference reagent.
Preparation and Storage
The purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added. Store at 2- 8 degree C.
Reagents are stable for the period shown on the label if stored as directed.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an immunoregulatory cytokine produced primarily by activated Th2 cells. This cytokine is involved in several stages of B-cell maturation and differentiation. It up-regulates CD23 and MHC class II expression, and promotes IgE isotype switching of B cells. This cytokine down-regulates macrophage activity, thereby inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. This cytokine is found to be critical to the pathogenesis of allergen-induced asthma but operates through mechanisms independent of IgE and eosinophils. This gene, IL3, IL5, IL4, and CSF2 form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q, with this gene particularly close to IL4. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

Function: Cytokine. Inhibits inflammatory cytokine production. Synergizes with IL2 in regulating interferon-gamma synthesis. May be critical in regulating inflammatory and immune responses.

Subunit structure: Interacts with IL13RA2.

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Involvement in disease: Defects in IL13 may be a cause of susceptibility to allergic rhinitis (ALRH) [

MIM:607154]. Allergic rhinitis is a common disease of complex inheritance and is characterized by mucosal inflammation caused by allergen exposure.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the IL-4/IL-13 family.

Caution: It is uncertain whether Met-1 or Met-15 is the initiator.

Sequence caution: The sequence AAA36107.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation. Translation N-terminally extended. The sequence AAA83738.1 differs from that shown. Product Notes

The IL13 il13 (Catalog #AAA670052) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rat Anti-Human IL-13-UNLB reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's IL-13 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA. Research Application(s): ELISA Capture: JES10-35G12 monoclonal antibody is useful as a capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA for quantifying human IL-13 protein levels.1,2 Purified JES10-35G12 antibody should be paired with biotinylated JES2E10 antibody as the detection antibody, with purified recombinant human IL-13 as the standard. Since applications vary, each investigator should determine the optimal concentration appropriate for individual applications. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL13 il13 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-13, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
