Related Product Information for anti-AIF1 antibody
AIF1, also known as IBA1, is an actin-binding protein. AIF1 is expressed selectively in human macrophage-like cell lines, and in a subset of CD68(+) macrophages in the interstitial and perivascular spaces of human heart allografts. It is expressed in macrophages and neutrophils. AIF1 enhances membrane ruffling and RAC activation. AIF1 enhances the actin-bundling activity of LCP1. It also enhances lymphocyte migration. AIF1 may play a role in macrophage activation and function. It binds calcium and plays a role in RAC signaling and in phagocytosis. It promotes the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells and of T-lymphocytes.

NCBI Description

This gene is induced by cytokines and interferon. Its protein product is thought to be involved in negative regulation of growth of vascular smooth muscle cells, which contributes to the anti-inflammatory response to vessel wall trauma. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]

Uniprot Description

AIF1: Actin-binding protein that enhances membrane ruffling and RAC activation. Enhances the actin-bundling activity of LCP1. Binds calcium. Plays a role in RAC signaling and in phagocytosis. May play a role in macrophage activation and function. Promotes the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells and of T- lymphocytes. Enhances lymphocyte migration. Plays a role in vascular inflammation. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The AIF1 aif1 (Catalog #AAA8107260) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Recombinant Anti-Iba1 Antibody, Rabbit Monoclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Iba1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF). ELISA: 1:5000-1:10,000 IHC-P: 1:100-1:500 ICC/IF: 1:20-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AIF1 aif1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Iba1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
