Specificity
This MAb reacts specifically with heat shock protein HSP27 in human and monkey tissues and cell lines such as MCF-7. HSP27, also referred to as the Estrogen-Regulated 24K protein and HSP28, is one of several small heat shock proteins produced by all organisms studied. HSP27 synthesis is induced by elevated temperature, as well as by estrogen in hormone responsive cells. Interestingly, human HSP27 also shares greater than 50% homology with low molecular weight Drosophila HSPs and mammalian alpha-crystalline lens protein. Because of the estrogen responsive nature of HSP27, this protein has been studied extensively in human estrogen responsive tissues such as cervix, endometrium and breast tissue. Therefore HSP27 may be useful in classifying various hormone sensitive tumors.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is induced by environmental stress and developmental changes. The encoded protein is involved in stress resistance and actin organization and translocates from the cytoplasm to the nucleus upon stress induction. Defects in this gene are a cause of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2F (CMT2F) and distal hereditary motor neuropathy (dHMN). [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]

Uniprot Description

HSP27: a small heat shock protein that is regulated both transcriptionally and posttranslationally. Modulates actin polymerization and reorganization. Its expression level increases several-fold in response to stress and is phosphorylated by MAPKAP kinase 2. Cytoplasmic in interphase cells. Colocalizes with mitotic spindles in mitotic cells. Translocates to the nucleus during heat shock.

Protein type: Heat shock protein; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Chaperone

Product Notes

The HSPB1 hspb1 (Catalog #AAA438416) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HSP27 (Heat Shock Protein 27) Mouse Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Chimpanzee, Monkey, Sheep, Rat, Mouse, Chicken and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HSP27 (Heat Shock Protein 27) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin. Flow Cytometry (0.5-1ug/million cells in 0.1ml) Immunofluorescence (0.5-1ug/ml) Western Blot (0.25-0.5ug/ml) Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed) (0.5-1ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT) (Staining of formalin-fixed tissues is enhanced by boiling tissue sections in 10mM Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HSPB1 hspb1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HSP27 (Heat Shock Protein 27), Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
