H. pylori (HP) cytotoxin associated gene A protein (CagA)
Background: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a spiral rod shaped gram-negative bacterium, is frequently found in the stomach. In infected populations, 10-20% may develop gastritis and gastric ulcer and 1- 2% may develop cancer. The genome of H. pylori isolates from carriers with symptoms contains a 40kb pathogenicity island encoding H. pylori cytotoxin, cytotoxin associated gene A protein (CagA) and other virulence associated factors. CagA is used as a biomarker for virulent H. pylori strains.

Product Notes
The HP CagA (Catalog #AAA592044) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The mAb anti-HP CagA reacts with Human Cross-reaction with other proteins has not been identified. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HP CagA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). ELISA: HRP conjugated 3C10 selectively detects cell lysate of a CagA containing H. pylori strain in sandwich ELISA assay when clone 10E9 is used as coating antibody. In addition, HRP conjugated clone 3C10 can detect the recombinant CagA antigen in sandwich ELISA if use anti-CagA clone 10E9 or clone 5H10 coated ELISA wells. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HP CagA for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HP CagA, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
