Related Product Information for anti-SYNCRIP antibody
Pre-mRNA splicing is a critical step in the posttranscriptional regulation of gene expression. Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein Q (hnRNP Q) is involved in RNA processing and is necessary for efficient pre-mRNA splicing. hnRNP is widely expressed and developmentally regulated. hnRNP Q interacts with survival motor neuron protein (SMN). Loss of function of SMN results in spinal muscular atrophy, a common neurodegenerative disease. The most common deletion in SMN genes disrupts the interaction between SMN and hnRNP Q. hnRNP Q is upregulated after midnight, and this upregulation correlates with an abrupt decline in AANAT, the key enzyme in melatonin synthesis. Rhythmic AANAT mRNA degradation mediated in part by hnRNP Q implicates this enzyme in the regulation of circadian oscillation.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the cellular heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) family. hnRNPs are RNA binding proteins that complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA) and regulate alternative splicing, polyadenylation, and other aspects of mRNA metabolism and transport. The encoded protein plays a role in multiple aspects of mRNA maturation and is associated with several multiprotein complexes including the apoB RNA editing-complex and survival of motor neurons (SMN) complex. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene, and a pseudogene of this gene is located on the short arm of chromosome 20. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]

Uniprot Description

NSAP1: a heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) implicated in mRNA processing mechanisms. A component of the spliceosome. Five alternatively spliced isoforms have been described. Isoform 1, 2 and 3 are associated with pre-mRNA, splicing intermediates and mature mRNA protein complexes. Isoform 1 binds to apoB mRNA AU-rich sequences. Isoform 1 is part of the APOB mRNA editosome complex and may modulate the postranscriptional C to U RNA-editing of the APOB mRNA through either by binding to ACF (APOBEC1 complementation factor), to APOBEC1 or to RNA itself. May be involved in translationally coupled mRNA turnover. Implicated with other RNA-binding proteins in the cytoplasmic deadenylation/translational and decay interplay of the FOS mRNA mediated by the major coding-region determinant of instability (mCRD) domain. Interacts in vitro preferentially with poly(A) and poly(U) RNA sequences. Isoform 3 may be involved in cytoplasmic vesicle-based mRNA transport through interaction with synaptotagmins.

The hnRNP Q Conjugated Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's hnRNP Q can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Most Applications. Suggested Dilution: AF350 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF405 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF488 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF555 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF594 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF647 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF680 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF750 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 Biotin conjugated: working with enzyme-conjugated streptavidin, most applications: 1:50-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SYNCRIP syncrip for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "hnRNP Q, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
