Specificity
Hepatocyte Specific Antigen, also called Hepatocyte Paraffin 1 or HepPar1, localizes to the mitochondria of hepatocytes. It is a sensitive marker for distinguishing hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC) from other metastatic carcinomas as well as cholangio-carcinomas. HCCs occur primarily in the stomach, but they are also found in many other organs. The Hepatocyte Specific Antigen may also be a useful marker for intestinal metaplasia. Reportedly, strong expression of the Hepatocyte Specific Antigen correlates with smaller tumor size and longer patient survival. Occasionally, Hepatocyte Specific Antigen is also found in gastric carcinomas as well as in a few other non-hepatic tumors.
Form/Format
200ug/ml of Ab purified from Bioreactor Concentrate by Protein A/G. Prepared in 10mM PBS with 0.05% BSA & 0.05% azide. Also available WITHOUT BSA & azide at 1.0mg/ml.

Product Notes

The Hepatocyte Specific Antigen (Catalog #AAA438219) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Hepatocyte Specific Antigen (Hepatocellular Marker) Mouse Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Dog and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Hepatocyte Specific Antigen can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin. Immunofluorescence (0.5-1.0ug/ml) Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed) (1-2ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT) (Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM Tris with 1mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Hepatocyte Specific Antigen for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Hepatocyte Specific Antigen, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
