Related Product Information for anti-HCN2 antibody
Ion channels are integral membrane proteins that help establish and control the small voltage gradient across the plasma membrane of living cells by allowing the flow of ions down their electrochemical gradient. Hyperpolarization-activated cation channels of the HCN gene family, such as HCN2, play a crucial role in the regulation of cell excitability. They contribute to spontaneous rhythmic activity in the heart and brain.

NCBI Description

Hyperpolarization-activated cation channels of the HCN gene family, such as HCN2, contribute to spontaneous rhythmic activity in both heart and brain.[supplied by OMIM]

Uniprot Description

HCN2: Hyperpolarization-activated ion channel exhibiting weak selectivity for potassium over sodium ions. Contributes to the native pacemaker currents in heart (If) and in neurons (Ih). Produces a large instantaneous current. Activated by cAMP. Modulated by intracellular chloride ions and pH; acidic pH shifts the activation to more negative voltages. Belongs to the potassium channel HCN family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Channel, cation; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13.3

Cellular Component: voltage-gated potassium channel complex; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; voltage-gated potassium channel activity; intracellular cAMP activated cation channel activity; voltage-gated sodium channel activity; cAMP binding

Biological Process: synaptic transmission; regulation of membrane potential; cell-cell signaling

Product Notes

The HCN2 hcn2 (Catalog #AAA190576) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 761-863. The Anti-HCN2 Cyclic Nucleotide-Gated Channel Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Mouse, rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HCN2 Cyclic nucleotide-gated Channel can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoblot; Immunohistochemistry; Immunocytochemistry; Immunofluorescence. Immunoblotting: use at 1-10ug/ml. A band of ~95kDa is detected. Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry: use at 0.1-1ug/ml. Immunofluorescence: use at 1-10ug/ml. These are recommended concentrations. User should determine optimal concentrations for their application. Positive control: Rat brain lysate. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HCN2 hcn2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HCN2 Cyclic nucleotide-gated Channel, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
