Human
Clonality
Monoclonal
Isotype
IgG1, kappa
Clone Number
SPM552
Specificity
This MAb reacts with a protein of ~13kDa, identified as alpha sub-unit of HCG. HCG is a glycoprotein, which is secreted in large quantities by normal trophoblasts. It is present only in trace amounts in non-pregnant urine and sera but rises sharply during pregnancy. HCG is composed of two non-identical, non-covalently linked polypeptide chains designated as the a and b subunits. The a subunit is identical to that of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH).
Form/Format
200ug/ml of Ab purified from Bioreactor Concentrate by Protein A/G. Prepared in 10mM PBS with 0.05% BSA & 0.05% azide. Also available WITHOUT BSA & azide at 1.0mg/ml.
Sequence Length
116
Applicable Applications for anti-CGA antibody
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin
Application Notes
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed) (1-2ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT) (No special pre-treatment is required for staining of formalin-fixed tissues. Note that HIER is NOT recommended for this antibody.)
Cellular Localization
Cytoplasmic, Secreted
Immunogen
Recombinant hCG alpha protein
Hu-Chromosome Location
6q12-q21
Positive Control
Placenta
Preparation and Storage
Antibody with azide - store at 2 to 8 degree C. Antibody without azide - store at -20 to -80 degree C. Antibody is stable for 24 months. Non-hazardous. No MSDS required.

NCBI Description

The four human glycoprotein hormones chorionic gonadotropin (CG), luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) are dimers consisting of alpha and beta subunits that are associated noncovalently. The alpha subunits of these hormones are identical, however, their beta chains are unique and confer biological specificity. The protein encoded by this gene is the alpha subunit and belongs to the glycoprotein hormones alpha chain family. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2011]

Product Notes

The CGA cga (Catalog #AAA438296) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HCG-alpha (Pregnancy & Choriocarcinoma Marker) Mouse Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HCG-alpha can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin. Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed) (1-2ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT) (No special pre-treatment is required for staining of formalin-fixed tissues. Note that HIER is NOT recommended for this antibody.). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CGA cga for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HCG-alpha, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
