Related Product Information for anti-Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase antibody
The enzyme glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) catalyzes the synthesis of g-aminobutyric acid (GABA), the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. GAD is the rate-limiting enzyme in the biosynthesis of GABA from L-glutamic acid, and it is used extensively as a marker for GABAergic neurons and synaptic terminals. GAD has been observed in pancreatic islet cells and identified as an autoantigen associated with the development of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.

Product Notes

The Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase (Catalog #AAA607899) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase (GAD) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
