NCBI Description

Glutamate-cysteine ligase, also known as gamma-glutamylcysteine synthetase, is the first rate limiting enzyme of glutathione synthesis. The enzyme consists of two subunits, a heavy catalytic subunit and a light regulatory subunit. Gamma glutamylcysteine synthetase deficiency has been implicated in some forms of hemolytic anemia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]

Product Notes

The GCLM gclm (Catalog #AAA4381540) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Glutamate-Cysteine Ligase Regulatory Subunit reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Glutamate-Cysteine Ligase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1-2ug/ml IHC-P: 1-2ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10mM Tris with 1mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95 degree C followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GCLM gclm for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Glutamate-Cysteine Ligase, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
