NCBI Description

This gene is a member of KDWK gene family. The product of this gene associates with GMEB1 protein, and the complex is essential for parvovirus DNA replication. Study of rat homolog implicates the role of this gene in modulation of transactivation by the glucocorticoid receptor bound to glucocorticoid response elements. This gene appears to use multiple polyadenylation sites. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

GMEB2: Trans-acting factor that binds to glucocorticoid modulatory elements (GME) present in the TAT (tyrosine aminotransferase) promoter and increases sensitivity to low concentrations of glucocorticoids. Binds also to the transferrin receptor promoter. Essential auxiliary factor for the replication of parvoviruses.

Protein type: Nuclear receptor co-regulator

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20q13.33

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: DNA binding; metal ion binding; transcription coactivator activity

Biological Process: transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent

Product Notes

The GMEB2 gmeb2 (Catalog #AAA602959) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Glucocorticoid Modulatory Element Binding Protein 2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blotting. Dilution: Western Blotting: 1:1000-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GMEB2 gmeb2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Glucocorticoid Modulatory Element Binding Protein 2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
