Specificity
Human and bovine fibrillin (Mr 350 kDa); other species not tested
The fibrillins are extracellular matrix glycoproteins which occur as a major component of a subset of connective tissue microfibrils. These microfibrils have a beaded appearance and a cross-sectional diameter of 10-12 nm. In elastic tissues, these structures are thought to provide the scaffold onto which elastin is assembled to form elastic fibers, although their function in non-elastic tissues is unclear.^1 In immunohistochemical staining of paraformaldehyde-fixed human skin, mAb 11C1.3 labels the elastic framework and more specifically the oxytalantic network close to the epidermis. The antibody also exhibits discrete staining of normal fibroblasts in culture and of extracellular (elastin) fibrils in a variety of tissues. ^2,3 There is an aberrant expression of fibrillin in Marfan syndrome. ^4
Form/Format
Fluorescein (FITC) Conjugate

Microfibrils from zonular apparatus of bovine eye
Characterization
To insure lot-to-lot consistency, each batch of product is tested by immunohistochemistry to conform to characteristics of a standard reference reagent.
Preparation and Storage
The purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.2 mg of purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added. Store at 2- 8 degree C.
The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate is supplied as 0.2 mg in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3. Store at 2-8 degree C.
The biotin (BIOT) conjugate is supplied as 0.2 mg in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3. Store at 2-8 degree C.
Protect conjugated forms from light. Reagents are stable for the period shown on the label if stored as directed.

Product Notes

The tlr0419 (Catalog #AAA673085) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Fibrillin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence; Immunohistochemistry; Western Blot. Immunohistochemistry Suggested Dilution: 1:50-1:100 (30-60 min at RT). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the tlr0419 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fibrillin, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
