Related Product Information for anti-CCL24 antibody
Eotaxin2, also named MPIF-2 and Ckbeta6, is a CC chemokine that is designated CCL24. Eotaxin2 cDNA encodes a 10.5 kDa, 119 amino acid residue precursor protein with a 26 aa residue signal peptide that is cleaved to generate a mature protein predicted to contain 93 amino acid residues with an N-glycosylation site. C-terminally truncated variants with 78, 73, 75 and 76 residues have also been described. Eotaxin 2 shares 40%, 42% and 39% amino acid sequence identity with other CC chemokines CCL7/MCP3, CCL3/MIP1alpha, and CCL11/Eotaxin, respectively. Eotaxin2 mRNA is weakly expressed in activated monocytes and T lymphocytes. Recombinant Eotaxin2 induces chemotaxis of eosinophils, basophils, and resting T lymphocytes, but not monocytes or activated T lymphocytes. Eotaxin2 also suppresses colony formation by high proliferative multipotential hematopoietic progenitors. On eosinophils, the effects of Eotaxin2, Eotaxin and CCL13/MCP4 are mediated by the receptor CCR3.

NCBI Description

This gene belongs to the subfamily of small cytokine CC genes. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The cytokine encoded by this gene displays chemotactic activity on resting T lymphocytes, a minimal activity on neutrophils, and is negative on monocytes and activated T lymphocytes. The protein is also a strong suppressor of colony formation by a multipotential hematopoietic progenitor cell line. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Chemotactic for resting T-lymphocytes, and eosinophils. Has lower chemotactic activity for neutrophils but none for monocytes and activated lymphocytes. Is a strong suppressor of colony formation by a multipotential hematopoietic progenitor cell line. Binds to CCR3.

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Tissue specificity: Activated monocytes and activated T lymphocytes.

Post-translational modification: N-glycosylated.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Product Notes

The CCL24 ccl24 (Catalog #AAA690296) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti-Human Eotaxin-2 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. ELISA: A 1:10,000 dilution of a 1 mg/ml antibody solution will give satisfactory results in a direct ELISA using alkaline phosphatase goat anti-mouse Ig (Jackson Laboratories). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CCL24 ccl24 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Eotaxin-2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
