NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a calcium-dependent glycoprotein that is a member of the desmocollin subfamily of the cadherin superfamily. These desmosomal family members, along with the desmogleins, are found primarily in epithelial cells where they constitute the adhesive proteins of the desmosome cell-cell junction and are required for cell adhesion and desmosome formation. The desmosomal family members are arranged in two clusters on chromosome 18, occupying less than 650 kb combined. Mutations in this gene are a cause of hypotrichosis and recurrent skin vesicles disorder. The protein can act as an autoantigen in pemphigus diseases, and it is also considered to be a biomarker for some cancers. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. Product Notes
The DSC2 dsc3 (Catalog #AAA6146915) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DSC2 (Desmocollin-2, Cadherin Family Member 2, Desmocollin-3, Desmosomal Glycoprotein II, Desmosomal Glycoprotein III, CDHF2, DSC3) (FITC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DSC2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB). IF: 10ug/ml Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DSC2 dsc3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DSC2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
