NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Function: Acts as cyclic nucleotide-gated ion channel. Permeable to potassium and calcium in a cyclic nucleotide-dependent fashion (cAMP or cGMP). Could also transport lithium, cesium and rubium and displays a strong selectivity against sodium. Seems to directly participate in pathogen-induced calcium influx. May function in homeostasis, re-establishing ionic balance after defense action and/or other stimuli. Could mediate the initiation of the developmentally regulated cell death programs. Ref.3 Ref.8
Subunit structure: Homotetramer or heterotetramer
Potential. Binds calmodulin-1/4 with a higher affinity than calmodulin-2/3/5.
Subcellular location: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein
Potential.
Tissue specificity: Expressed in the whole plant but only weakly in roots. Strongly expressed in the expanded cotyledons of 14-day-old seedlings and detected later in leaves after the transition to flowering. Also detected in flowers during organ senescence and in the dehiscence zone of siliques. Ref.8
Induction: Up-regulated by light. Transiently induced during leaf and culture senescence. Ref.8
Domain: The binding of calmodulin to the C-terminus might interfere with cyclic nucleotide binding and thus channel activation
By similarity. Ref.7
Miscellaneous: Loss-of-function mutations cngc2-1 (dnd1-1) or cncg2-2 results in the loss of the hypersensitive response and leads to a broad spectrum disease resistance. These mutations lead to a specific and dramatic calcium hypersensitivity that results in severe reductions in plant size and seed yield.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the cyclic nucleotide-gated cation channel (TC 1.A.1.5) family. [View classification]Contains 1 cyclic nucleotide-binding domain.Contains 1 IQ domain.

Product Notes
The DND1 cngc2 (Catalog #AAA645393) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DND1 (RBMS4, Dead End Protein Homolog 1, RNA-binding Motif, Single-stranded-interacting Protein 4, MGC34750) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DND1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DND1 cngc2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: EARLLPSPGP APGQIALLKF SSHRAAAMAK KALVEGQSHL CGEQVAVEWL KPDLKQRLRQ QLVGPFLRSP QPEGSQLALA RDKLGFQGAR ATLQ. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DND1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
