Preparation and Storage
This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20 degree C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8 degree C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20 degree C.

Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.

Related Product Information for anti-CXCL16 antibody
Mouse anti Human CXCL16 antibody, clone C19-5F9, recognizes C-X-C motif Chemokine 16 (CXCL16). Unlike most chemokines, CXCL16 is a membrane bound ligand anchored through transmembrane domains. Although a soluble form of CXCL16 is generated through proteolytic cleavage. Transmembrane CXCL16 is mainly expressed on macrophages, dendritic cells, B cells and various tumor cells. In this form, it acts as an adhesion molecule though the binding of its receptor CXCR6 expressed on other cells including T cells. Transmembrane CXCL16 also binds gram positive and gram negative bacteria, playing a role in innate and adaptive immune responses (Shimaoka et al. 2003).

Soluble CXCL16 has chemoattractant activity, and elicits this response through the receptor CXCR6.There is also mounting evidence suggesting an additional role in tumor progression. With a number of studies suggesting CXCL16 as a biomarker for the evaluation of some tumor type prognoses (Richardsen et al. 2015, Shibata et al. 2020, Gooden et al. 2014).

The biotinylated Mouse anti Human CXCL16 antibody, clone C19-5F9 can be used as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the purified Mouse anti Human CXCL16 antibody, clone B06-3H6 as the capture antibody.

Uniprot Description

CXCL16: Acts as a scavenger receptor on macrophages, which specifically binds to OxLDL (oxidized low density lipoprotein), suggesting that it may be involved in pathophysiology such as atherogenesis. Induces a strong chemotactic response. Induces calcium mobilization. Binds to CXCR6/Bonzo. Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17p13

Cellular Component: extracellular space; membrane; extracellular region; plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: low-density lipoprotein receptor activity; chemokine activity; scavenger receptor activity

Biological Process: receptor-mediated endocytosis; response to cytokine stimulus; chemotaxis; positive regulation of cell growth; positive regulation of cell migration

Product Notes

The CXCL16 cxcl16 (Catalog #AAA226133) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse anti Human CXCL16:Biotin reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CXCL16 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). ELISA: 1.0ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CXCL16 cxcl16 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CXCL16, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
