NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the peptidase S1 family. The encoded protein is a serum calcium-decreasing factor that has chymotrypsin-like protease activity. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed, but their full-length nature has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

CTRC: Has chymotrypsin-type protease activity and hypocalcemic activity. Genetic variations in CTRC can predispose to chronic pancreatitis by diminishing its protective trypsin-degrading activity. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family. Elastase subfamily.

Protein type: EC 3.4.21.2; Protease

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p36.21

Molecular Function: peptidase activity; serine-type endopeptidase activity

Biological Process: proteolysis

Disease: Pancreatitis, Hereditary

Product Notes

The CTRC dkfzp779k0837 (Catalog #AAA190108) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Chymotrypsin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot, Immunoassay. These antibodies may be used in immunoassays and Western Blotting to identify chymotrypsin. Other applications are under investigation. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CTRC dkfzp779k0837 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Chymotrypsin, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
