Related Product Information for anti-CHST12 antibody
Catalyzes the transfer of sulfate to position 4 of the N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) residue of chondroitin and desulfated dermatan sulfate. Chondroitin sulfate constitutes the predominant proteoglycan present in cartilage and is distributed on the surfaces of many cells and extracellular matrices. Activity toward partially desulfated dermatan sulfate is however lower. Does not form 4, 6-di-O-sulfated GalNAc when chondroitin sulfate C is used as an acceptor.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the sulfotransferase 2 family. It is localized to the golgi membrane, and catalyzes the transfer of sulfate to position 4 of the N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) residue of chondroitin and desulfated dermatan sulfate. Chondroitin sulfate constitutes the predominant proteoglycan present in cartilage, and is distributed on the surfaces of many cells and extracellular matrices. Alternatively spliced transcript variants differing only in their 5' UTRs have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Uniprot Description

Function: Catalyzes the transfer of sulfate to position 4 of the N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) residue of chondroitin and desulfated dermatan sulfate.

Catalytic activity: 3'-phosphoadenylyl sulfate + chondroitin = adenosine 3',5'-bisphosphate + chondroitin 4'-sulfate. Ref.1

Subcellular location: Golgi apparatus membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein

By similarity.

Tissue specificity: Widely expressed. Expressed a high level in spinal chord, heart, spleen, thyroid, pituitary gland, adrenal gland, peripheral blood leukocytes, thymus, lung, small intestine, fetal kidney, fetal spleen and fetal lung. Ref.1

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the sulfotransferase 2 family.

Product Notes

The CHST12 chst12 (Catalog #AAA648912) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CHST12 (Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 12, Chondroitin 4-O-sulfotransferase 2, Chondroitin 4-sulfotransferase 2, C4ST-2, C4ST2, Sulfotransferase Hlo, UNQ500/PRO1017) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CHST12 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CHST12 chst12 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: RDRELTADSD VDEFLDKFLS AGVKQSDLPR KETEQPPAPG SMEESVRGYD WSPRDARRSP DQGRQQAERR SVLRGFCANS SLAFPTKERA FDDIP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CHST12, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
