Mouse anti-Human CES2 Monoclonal Antibody | anti-CES2 antibody
CES2 (Cocaine Esterase, Carboxylesterase 2, CE-2, hCE-2, Methylumbelliferyl-acetate Deacetylase 2, ICE)
Immunocytochemistry: 8-25 ug/mL using immersion fixed
HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line.
Immunoprecipitation: 25 ug/mL using conditioned cell culture spiked with recombinant human CES2.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Western Blot (WB)
(Detection of Human CES2 by Western Blot. Western Blot shows lysates of human liver tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 2ug/ml of MBS647447 followed by HRP-conjugated Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody. A specific band was detected for CES2 at ~62kD. This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.)
Testing Data
(CES2 in HepG2 Human Cell Line. CES2 was detected in immersion fixed HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line using MBS647447 (10ug/ml) for 3 hours at RT. Cells were stained using the NorthernLightsTM 557-conjugated Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to cytoplasmic.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the carboxylesterase large family. The family members are responsible for the hydrolysis or transesterification of various xenobiotics, such as cocaine and heroin, and endogenous substrates with ester, thioester, or amide bonds. They may participate in fatty acyl and cholesterol ester metabolism, and may play a role in the blood-brain barrier system. The protein encoded by this gene is the major intestinal enzyme and functions in intestine drug clearance. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Oct 2010]
Uniprot Description
Function: Involved in the detoxification of xenobiotics and in the activation of ester and amide prodrugs. Shows high catalytic efficiency for hydrolysis of cocaine, 4-methylumbelliferyl acetate, heroin and 6-monoacetylmorphine. Ref.2
Catalytic activity: Cocaine + H2O = ecgonine methyl ester + benzoate. Ref.2A carboxylic ester + H2O = an alcohol + a carboxylate. Ref.24-methylumbelliferyl acetate + H2O = 4-methylumbelliferone + acetate. Ref.2
Subunit structure: Monomer. Ref.2
Subcellular location: Endoplasmic reticulum lumen
By similarity.
Tissue specificity: Preferentially expressed in intestine with moderate expression in liver. Within the intestine, highest expression is found in small intestine with lower expression in colon and rectum. Ref.1
Post-translational modification: Glycosylated. Ref.2
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the type-B carboxylesterase/lipase family.
Biophysicochemical propertiesKinetic parameters:KM=0.39 mM for cocaine Ref.2KM=0.15 mM for 4-methylumbelliferyl acetateKM=6.8 mM for heroinKM=0.13 mM for 6-monoacetylmorphine

Product Notes
The CES2 ces2 (Catalog #AAA647447) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CES2 (Cocaine Esterase, Carboxylesterase 2, CE-2, hCE-2, Methylumbelliferyl-acetate Deacetylase 2, ICE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CES2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Suitable for use in Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP) and Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Other applications not tested. Western Blot (WB): 2 ug/ml Immunocytochemistry: 8-25 ug/mL using immersion fixed HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line. Immunoprecipitation: 25 ug/mL using conditioned cell culture spiked with recombinant human CES2. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CES2 ces2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CES2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
