Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (IHC image of MBS7135571 diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human testis tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4 degree C overnight. The primary is detected by a Goat anti-mouse IgG polymer labeled by HRP and visualized using 0.05% DAB.)

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a cell surface glycoprotein involved in leukocyte migration, T-cell adhesion, ganglioside GM1 and transmembrane protein transport, and T-cell death by a caspase-independent pathway. In addition, the encoded protein may have the ability to rearrange the actin cytoskeleton and may also act as an oncosuppressor in osteosarcoma. Cyclophilin A binds to CD99 and may act as a signaling regulator of CD99. This gene is found in the pseudoautosomal region of chromosomes X and Y and escapes X-chromosome inactivation. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2013]

Uniprot Description

CD99: Involved in T-cell adhesion processes and in spontaneous rosette formation with erythrocytes. Plays a role in a late step of leukocyte extravasation helping leukocytes to overcome the endothelial basement membrane. Acts at the same site as, but independently of, PECAM1. Involved in T-cell adhesion processes. Belongs to the CD99 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xp22.32 and Yp11.3

Cellular Component: focal adhesion; integral to plasma membrane; cytoplasm; plasma membrane

Biological Process: cell adhesion

Product Notes

The CD99 cd99 (Catalog #AAA7135571) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD99 Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD99 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IHC: 1:20-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD99 cd99 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD99, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
