NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Tetraspanins are cell surface glycoproteins with four transmembrane domains that form multimeric complexes with other cell surface proteins. The encoded protein functions in many cellular processes including differentiation, adhesion, and signal transduction, and expression of this gene plays a critical role in the suppression of cancer cell motility and metastasis. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The CD9 cd9 (Catalog #AAA6248805) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD9 (CD9 Antigen, CD9 Molecule, 5H9, 5H9 Antigen, BA2, BTCC-1, DRAP-27, Growth Inhibiting Gene 2 Protein, GIG2, Leukocyte Antigen MIC3, MIC3, Motility-related Protein, MRP-1, P24, p24 Antigen, Tetraspanin 29, Tspan-29) (Biotin) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD9 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD9 cd9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD9, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
