Mouse CD86, the B7-2 co-stimulatory molecule and a ligand for CD28 and CD152/CTLA-4
CD86, also known as B7-2, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors. It is expressed at high levels on resting peripheral monocytes and dendritic cells and at very low density on resting B and T lymphocytes.^1-5 CD86 expression is rapidly upregulated by B-cell specific stimuli with peak expression at 18-42 hours after stimulation.^1, 5 CD86, along with CD80/B7-1, is an important accessory molecule in T cell costimulation via its interaction with CD28 and CD152/CTLA-4. Since CD86 has rapid kinetics of induction, it is believed to be the major CD28 ligand expressed early in the immune response.^1-9 The monoclonal antibody GL1 blocks mixed lymphocyte reactions and stimulation of T cells by antigen-presenting cells.^1, 3, 5

Product Notes

The LOC554318 (Catalog #AAA673459) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rat Anti-Mouse CD86/B7-2-PE/Cy7 reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD86/B7-2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry; Immunohistochemistry (Frozen Sections); Immunoprecipitation. Research Application(s): In vivo and in vitro blocking assays. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LOC554318 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD86/B7-2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
