Related Product Information for anti-CD86 antibody
Rat anti mouse CD86 recognizes mouse CD86 (B7-2), an 80kD cell surface glycoprotein which is a member of the CD28/B7 family. In mouse CD86 is expressed at high levels on peripheral blood monocytes and dendritic cells, and at low levels on resting B and T-lymphocytes. Expression of CD86, on these cell populations, can be increased upon activation. CD86 has been identified, along with CD80 (B7-1), as a ligand for CD28 and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA4). CD28 and CTLA4 are two receptors that have opposing functions in T-cell stimulation. Interaction of CD86 with CD28 promotes a number of T-cell activities, whereas the binding of CD86 to CTLA4 inhibits T-cell responses. The PO3 antibody has been reported to block some co-stimulatory functions of CD86  (Nakajima et al. 1997).

Uniprot Description

CD86: Receptor involved in the costimulatory signal essential for T-lymphocyte proliferation and interleukin-2 production, by binding CD28 or CTLA-4. May play a critical role in the early events of T-cell activation and costimulation of naive T-cells, such as deciding between immunity and anergy that is made by T- cells within 24 hours after activation. Isoform 2 interferes with the formation of CD86 clusters, and thus acts as a negative regulator of T-cell activation. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Immunoglobulin superfamily; Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: cell surface; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; membrane; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: receptor binding

Biological Process: B cell activation; negative regulation of T cell anergy; immune system process; toll-like receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of T cell proliferation; positive regulation of activated T cell proliferation; defense response to virus

Product Notes

The CD86 cd86 (Catalog #AAA216137) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CD86 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS). Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells in 100ul. Flow Cytometry: Minimum Dilution: Neat; Maximum Dilution: 1/10. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD86 cd86 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD86, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
