Mouse anti-Rat CD59 glycoprotein Monoclonal Antibody | anti-CD59 glycoprotein antibody
CD59 glycoprotein, Rat, mAb TH9
For unit size 0.5 mg or larger: PBS only (concentration< 0.5mg/ml)
In rat, CD59 is expressed on vacular endothelium and circulating cells. In the central nervous system (CNS) of the rat, CD59 is expressed on the Schwann sheath of peripheral nerve fibres and on ependymal cells, but not on glial cells and neurons in the CNS. Rat astrocytes in vitro express CD59 on its surface.
CD59 may be involved in rheumatoid arthritis, motor nerve injury in the Guillain-Barr© sydrome and in other diseases where defective inhibition of complement activation on self tissue is involved. Furthermore, CD59 may play an important part in abrogating the effects of complement attack in renal disease. Its presence and protective effect have already been demonstrated on human renal cells.

NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a cell surface glycoprotein that regulates complement-mediated cell lysis, and it is involved in lymphocyte signal transduction. This protein is a potent inhibitor of the complement membrane attack complex, whereby it binds complement C8 and/or C9 during the assembly of this complex, thereby inhibiting the incorporation of multiple copies of C9 into the complex, which is necessary for osmolytic pore formation. This protein also plays a role in signal transduction pathways in the activation of T cells. Mutations in this gene cause CD59 deficiency, a disease resulting in hemolytic anemia and thrombosis, and which causes cerebral infarction. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants, which encode the same protein, have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
CD59: Potent inhibitor of the complement membrane attack complex (MAC) action. Acts by binding to the C8 and/or C9 complements of the assembling MAC, thereby preventing incorporation of the multiple copies of C9 required for complete formation of the osmolytic pore. This inhibitor appears to be species-specific. Involved in signal transduction for T-cell activation complexed to a protein tyrosine kinase. Defects in CD59 are the cause of CD59 deficiency (CD59D).

Product Notes
The CD59 glycoprotein cd59 (Catalog #AAA584325) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD59 glycoprotein, Rat, mAb TH9 reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD59 glycoprotein can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, F, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), FS, Western Blot (WB). Application Use: For immunohistology, flow cytometry and Western blotting, dilutions to be used depend on detection system applied. It is recommended that users test the reagent and determine their own optimal dilutions. The typical starting working dilution is 1:50. For functional studies, in vitro dilutions have to be optimized in user's experimental setting. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD59 glycoprotein cd59 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD59 glycoprotein, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
