Specificity
Reacts with five invariable CD3 chains (designated as and) with molecular weight ranging from 16-28kDa. It is found on all mature T-lymphocytes, NK, T-cells, and some thymocytes. CD3, also known as T3, is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily that plays a role in antigen recognition, signal transduction, and T cell activation. It is expressed, typically at high levels, on peripheral T cells and majority of T cell neoplasms. Thymocytes express CD3 at different level on the cell surface in the course of differentiation and, in cortical thymus, CD3 is predominantly Intracytoplasmic. This MAb is particularly useful for induction of T cell activation in vitro and in vivo due to its unusual IgG3 isotype.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is the CD3-epsilon polypeptide, which together with CD3-gamma, -delta and -zeta, and the T-cell receptor alpha/beta and gamma/delta heterodimers, forms the T-cell receptor-CD3 complex. This complex plays an important role in coupling antigen recognition to several intracellular signal-transduction pathways. The genes encoding the epsilon, gamma and delta polypeptides are located in the same cluster on chromosome 11. The epsilon polypeptide plays an essential role in T-cell development. Defects in this gene cause immunodeficiency. This gene has also been linked to a susceptibility to type I diabetes in women. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The CD3E cd3e (Catalog #AAA439364) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD3 (T-Cell Marker) Mouse Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Functional Studies, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF). Functional Studies (Order Ab without Azide) Flow Cytometry (1-2 ug/million cells) Immunofluorescence (1-2ug/ml) Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD3E cd3e for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD3, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
