Uniprot Description

CD22: Mediates B-cell B-cell interactions. May be involved in the localization of B-cells in lymphoid tissues. Binds sialylated glycoproteins; one of which is CD45. Preferentially binds to alpha-2,6-linked sialic acid. The sialic acid recognition site can be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface. Upon ligand induced tyrosine phosphorylation in the immune response seems to be involved in regulation of B-cell antigen receptor signaling. Plays a role in positive regulation through interaction with Src family tyrosine kinases and may also act as an inhibitory receptor by recruiting cytoplasmic phosphatases via their SH2 domains that block signal transduction through dephosphorylation of signaling molecules. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. SIGLEC (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell surface; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.1

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; external side of plasma membrane

Product Notes

The CD22 cd22 (Catalog #AAA6268403) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD22 (CD22 Antigen, B Cell Receptor CD22 Precursor, B Lymphocyte Cell Adhesion Molecule, BL-CAM, Leu14, Lyb8, MGC130020, Sialic Acid Binding Immunoglobulin-like Lectin 2, Sialic Acid-binding Ig-like Lectin 2, Siglec 2, Siglec 2, Siglec 2) (APC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD22, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
