Preparation and Storage
This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20 degree C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8 degree C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20 degree C.

Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.

Related Product Information for anti-CD130 antibody
Mouse anti Human CD130 antibody, clone A14-5C5, recognizes CD130, also known as glycoprotein 130 (gp130) and STAT3. It is a ubiquitously expressed receptor subunit of the IL-6 family of cytokines and plays a role in many biological processes including hematopoiesis, immune response, inflammation, cardiovascular action, and neuronal survival. CD130 also plays a critical role during development with CD130 deficient mice being embryonically lethal as a result of myocardial hypoplasia and defects in hematopoiesis (White & Stephens 2011). CD130 is known to bind various cytokines in the IL-6 family, including IL-6, IL-11, IL-27, CT-1, oncostatin M and ciliary neurotrophic factor (White & Stephens 2011). Upon activation by these cytokines, various signaling pathways can be initiated including JAK/STAT, MAPK, mTOR, ERK and PI3K/Atk (Silver & Hunter 2010).

The purified Mouse anti Human CD130 antibody, clone A14-5C5 can be used as a capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the biotinylated Mouse anti Human CD130 antibody, clone E03-3C2 as the detection antibody.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a signal transducer shared by many cytokines, including interleukin 6 (IL6), ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF), leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), and oncostatin M (OSM). This protein functions as a part of the cytokine receptor complex. The activation of this protein is dependent upon the binding of cytokines to their receptors. vIL6, a protein related to IL6 and encoded by the Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus, can bypass the interleukin 6 receptor (IL6R) and directly activate this protein. Knockout studies in mice suggest that this gene plays a critical role in regulating myocyte apoptosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 17. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]

Uniprot Description

gp130: gp130 is a ubiquitously expressed type I cytokine family receptor. The receptor systems for IL6, LIF, OSM, CNTF, IL11 AND CT1 utilize gp130 for initiating signal transmission. Binds to IL6/IL6R (alpha chain) complex, resulting in the formation of high-affinity IL6 binding sites, and transduces the signal. Does not directly bind IL6. May have a role in embryonic development. Contains 5 fibronectin type III domains and 1 immunoglobulin-like C2-type domain. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The CD130 il6st (Catalog #AAA226105) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse anti Human CD130 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD130 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). ELISA: 1.0ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD130 il6st for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD130, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
