Mouse anti Human CD126 antibody, clone B-R6 recognizes human Interleukin-6 receptor subunit alpha, also known as CD126, IL-6R or Membrane glycoprotein 80. Human CD126 is a 468 amino acid single pass type I transmembrane glycoprotein bearing a single Ig-like C2 type domain, two fibronectin type III domains and a single WSXWS motif which may be involved in receptor activation (Daqil et al. 2012).

Mouse anti Human CD126 antibody, clone B-R6 inhibits IL-6 mediated proliferation of XG-1 cells (Lu et al. 1995) and partially blocks binding of IL-6 to its receptor (Fourcin et al. 1994), clone B-R6 recognizes both the soluble and membranous human CD126

Removal of sodium azide is recommended prior to use in functional assays.

Spleen cells from immunized BALB/c (Iffa Credo) mice were fused with the X63/Ag. 8653 mouse myeloma cell line.
Preparation and Storage
It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a subunit of the interleukin 6 (IL6) receptor complex. Interleukin 6 is a potent pleiotropic cytokine that regulates cell growth and differentiation and plays an important role in the immune response. The IL6 receptor is a protein complex consisting of this protein and interleukin 6 signal transducer (IL6ST/GP130/IL6-beta), a receptor subunit also shared by many other cytokines. Dysregulated production of IL6 and this receptor are implicated in the pathogenesis of many diseases, such as multiple myeloma, autoimmune diseases and prostate cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 9.[provided by RefSeq, May 2011]

Uniprot Description

IL6R: Part of the receptor for interleukin 6. Binds to IL6 with low affinity, but does not transduce a signal. Signal activation necessitate an association with IL6ST. Activation may lead to the regulation of the immune response, acute-phase reactions and hematopoiesis. Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 3 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Receptor, cytokine; Membrane protein, integral

Product Notes

The CD126 il6r (Catalog #AAA213171) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CD126 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC), Immunohistochemistry-Frozen (IHC-F), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunofluorescence (IF). FC: 1/50 Flow Cytometry Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells in 100ul Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD126 il6r for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD126, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
