Related Product Information for anti-CAMK2G antibody
The Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinases (CaM kinases) comprise a structurally related subfamily of serine/threonine kinases which include CaMKI, CaMKII and CaMKIV. CaMKII is a ubiquitously expressed serine/threonine protein kinase that is activated by Ca2+and calmodulin (CaM) and has been implicated in regulation of the cell cycle and transcription. There are four CaMKII isozymes designated alpha, beta , gamma and delta , which may or may not be co-expressed in the same tissue type. CaMKIV is stimulated by Ca2+ and CaM but also requires phosphorylation by a CaMK for full activation. Stimulation of the T cell receptor CD3 signaling complex with an anti-CD3 monoclonal antibody leads to a 10-40 fold increase in CaMKIV activity. An additional kinase, CaMKK, functions to activate CaMKI through the specific phosphorylation of the regulatory Threonine residue at position 177.

NCBI Description

The product of this gene is one of the four subunits of an enzyme which belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinase family, and to the Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase subfamily. Calcium signaling is crucial for several aspects of plasticity at glutamatergic synapses. In mammalian cells the enzyme is composed of four different chains: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. The product of this gene is a gamma chain. Many alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been described but the full-length nature of all the variants has not been determined.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]

Uniprot Description

CAMK2G: a protein kinase of the CAMK2 family. A prominent kinase in the central nervous system that may function in long-term potentiation and neurotransmitter release. Member of the NMDAR signaling complex in excitatory synapses that may regulate NMDAR-dependent potentiation of the AMPAR and synaptic plasticity. The holoenzyme is composed of four different chains: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. The different chains assemble into homo- or heteromultimeric holoenzymes composed of 8 to 12 subunits. May interact with BAALC, MPDZ, SYN1 and synGAP. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The CAMK2G camk2g (Catalog #AAA9435237) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CAMK2G Antibody reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CAMK2G can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:200-1:500 FC/FACS: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CAMK2G camk2g for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CAMK2G, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
