Related Product Information for anti-C-MYC antibody
Mouse anti c-myc antibody, clone 9E10 detects the p62c-myc proto-oncogene protein, which is involved in the regulation of the cell cycle and cell growth. C-myc is primarily located to the cell nucleus, but has also been shown to localised to the cytoplasm in several cell lines (Craig et al. 1993). Overexpression of c-myc has been reported in a wide variety of human cancers (Nesbit et al. 1999). Mouse anti c-myc antibody, clone 9E10 recognizes the sequence EQKLISEEDL and may be used to detect proteins and peptides labelled with molecular tags containing this sequence (Hilpert et al. 2001).

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a multifunctional, nuclear phosphoprotein that plays a role in cell cycle progression, apoptosis and cellular transformation. It functions as a transcription factor that regulates transcription of specific target genes. Mutations, overexpression, rearrangement and translocation of this gene have been associated with a variety of hematopoietic tumors, leukemias and lymphomas, including Burkitt lymphoma. There is evidence to show that alternative translation initiations from an upstream, in-frame non-AUG (CUG) and a downstream AUG start site result in the production of two isoforms with distinct N-termini. The synthesis of non-AUG initiated protein is suppressed in Burkitt's lymphomas, suggesting its importance in the normal function of this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The C-MYC myc (Catalog #AAA210409) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's C-MYC can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen, ELISA (EIA), Flow cytometry (FC/FACS)*, Immunohistology Paraffin, Western Blot (WB)*. Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 1x106 cells in 100ul. Immunohistology: This product does not require protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections prior to staining This product does not require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. ELISA: Minimum Dilution: 1/20; Maximum Dilution: 1/50 Flow Cytometry: Maximum Dilution: Neat; Application Note: Membrane permeabilisation is required for this application. MyBioSource recommends the use of Leucoperm for this purpose. Western Blotting: Application Note: 9E10 recognizes c-myc under non-reducing conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the C-MYC myc for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "C-MYC, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
