Specificity
Chicken Bu-1 (chB6), Mr 70-75 kDa
Chicken Bu-1, a product of the Bu-1a and Bu-1b alleles, is a type I transmembrane glycosylated, disulfide-linked homodimer. MAb AV20 recognizes a monomorphic determinant on the Bu-1 B cellassociated alloantigens of both RPL 6(3) (Bu-1a) and 7(2) (Bu-1b) lines of inbred chickens. The antibody also identifies B cells in partially inbred birds. Bu-1 is found on 85-90% of bursal cells, 2-8% of thymocytes, 15-27% of spleen cells, and 2-18% of peripheral blood cells. It is also expressed on subsets of macrophages and monocytes, but not on granulocytes, erythrocytes or thrombocytes.1-2 MAb AV20 does not cross react with turkey cells when analyzed by immunofluorescent staining and flow cytometry.3
Form/Format
Purified (UNLB) Antibody
Applicable Applications for Bu-1 secondary antibody
Flow Cytometry; Immunohistochemistry (Acetone Fixed/Frozen Sections); Immunoprecipitation
Application Notes
Flow Cytometry Suggested Dilution: <= 1 ug/10^6 cells
Immunogen
Bursal cells from one-day-old H.B15 (Bu-1a/b) strain chickens1
Characterization
To insure acceptable performance, each batch of product is tested by flow cytometry to conform to characteristics of a standard reference reagent. Representative data are included in this product insert.
Preparation and Storage
The purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg of purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added. Store at 2- 8 degree C.
The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate is supplied as 0.5 mg in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3. Store at 2-8 degree C.
The biotin (BIOT) conjugate is supplied as 0.5 mg in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3. Store at 2-8 degree C.
The R-phycoerythrin (R-PE) conjugate is supplied as 0.1 mg in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3 and a stabilizing agent. Store at 2-8 degree C. Do not freeze!
Protect conjugated forms from light. Each reagent is stable for the period shown on the bottle label if stored as directed.

Product Notes

The Bu-1 (Catalog #AAA673964) is a Secondary Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti-Chicken Bu-1-UNLB reacts with Chicken and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Bu-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry; Immunohistochemistry (Acetone Fixed/Frozen Sections); Immunoprecipitation. Flow Cytometry Suggested Dilution: <= 1 ug/10^6 cells. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Bu-1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Bu-1, Monoclonal Secondary Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
