Bcl-2 antibody
Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis and Immunofluorescence is 1:250 ~ 500.
Recommended starting dilution is 1:500
For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degree C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.
Western Blot (WB)
(Cell lysates (35ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human Bcl-2 (1:500). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system.)
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Immunofluorescence of HeLa cells stained with Hoechst 3342 (Blue) for nucleus staining and with monoclonal anti-human Bcl-2 antibody (1:500) with Texas Red (Red). )
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes an integral outer mitochondrial membrane protein that blocks the apoptotic death of some cells such as lymphocytes. Constitutive expression of BCL2, such as in the case of translocation of BCL2 to Ig heavy chain locus, is thought to be the cause of follicular lymphoma. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]
Uniprot Description
Suppresses apoptosis in a variety of cell systems including factor-dependent lymphohematopoietic and neural cells. Regulates cell death by controlling the mitochondrial membrane permeability. Appears to function in a feedback loop system with caspases. Inhibits caspase activity either by preventing the release of cytochrome c from the mitochondria and/or by binding to the apoptosis-activating factor (APAF-1). May attenuate inflammation by impairing NLRP1-inflammasome activation, hence CASP1 activation and IL1B release (PubMed:17418785).

Product Notes
The Bcl-2 bcl2 (Catalog #AAA200190) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Bcl-2 antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Bcl-2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). The antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot, and Immunofluorescence analyses to assure specificity and reactivity. Since applications vary, however, each investigation should be titrated by a reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis and Immunofluorescence is 1:250 ~ 500. Recommended starting dilution is 1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Bcl-2 bcl2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Bcl-2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
