Related Product Information for anti-ARID4A antibody
AT Rich Interactive Domain 4A (ARID4A) is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein. It binds directly, with several other proteins, to retinoblastoma protein (pRB) which regulates cell proliferation. pRB represses transcription by recruiting the encoded protein. This protein, in turn, serves as a bridging molecule to recruit HDACs and, in addition, provides a second HDAC-independent repression function. The encoded protein possesses transcriptional repression activity.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been observed for this gene, although not all transcript variants have been fully described. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

RbBP1: Interacts with the viral protein-binding domain of the retinoblastoma protein. Interacts with BRMS1. Identified in mSin3A corepressor complexes together with SIN3A, SIN3B, RBBP4, RBBP7, SAP30, BRMS1, HDAC1 and HDAC2. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q23.1

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; transcriptional repressor complex; nucleus

Molecular Function: DNA binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; erythrocyte development; establishment and/or maintenance of chromatin architecture; genetic imprinting; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; spermatogenesis; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent

Product Notes

The ARID4A arid4a (Catalog #AAA600424) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AT Rich Interactive Domain 4A (ARID4A, RBP1-Like) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AT Rich Interactive Domain 4A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Gel Shift Assay (GS/EMSA). Suitable for use in Dot Blot and Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ARID4A arid4a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AT Rich Interactive Domain 4A, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
