Related Product Information for anti-pxo1_110 antibody
The exotoxin produced by B. anthracis is composed of three proteins: a cell-receptor binding protein known as Protective Antigen (PA), and two enzymes, Edema Factor (EF) and Lethal Factor (LF). An 83 kDa form of PA binds to a cell surface receptor and, upon proteolytic activation to a 63 kDa fragment, heptamerizes to form a membrane channel that mediates the entry of three molecules of LF or EF into the cells. PA and LF form Lethal Toxin, which is the dominant virulence factor produced by B. Anthracis and is the major cause of death in infected animals.

Uniprot Description

One of the three proteins composing the anthrax toxin, the agent which infects many mammalian species and that may cause death. PA binds to a receptor (ATR) in sensitive eukaryotic cells, thereby facilitating the translocation of the enzymatic toxin components, edema factor and lethal factor, across the target cell membrane. PA associated with LF causes death when injected, PA associated with EF produces edema. PA induces immunity to infection with anthrax.

Product Notes

The pxo1_110 paga (Catalog #AAA565142) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anthrax Protective Antigen monoclonal antibody (PA6) reacts with Bacillus anthracis and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Anthrax Protective Antigen can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the pxo1_110 paga for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Anthrax Protective Antigen, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
