Related Product Information for anti-AGTR2 antibody
AGTR-2, also known as AT2, is a 7 transmembrane domain protein that belongs to the G protein-coupled receptor family 1. Both AGTR-2 and AGTR-1 bind Angiotensin II and function in the control of hemodynamics. In contrast to AGTR-1, which promotes vasoconstriction and cell proliferation, AGTR-2 inhibits growth and promotes apoptosis. In addition, Angiotensin II-induced AGTR-2 signaling induces the release of nitric oxide in the heart, kidney, and brain and participates in tissue morphogenesis and repair. Human AGTR-2 shares 92% amino acid sequence identity with mouse and rat AGTR-2.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family, and functions as a receptor for angiotensin II. It is an intergral membrane protein that is highly expressed in fetus, but scantily in adult tissues, except brain, adrenal medulla, and atretic ovary. This receptor has been shown to mediate programmed cell death and this apoptotic function may play an important role in developmental biology and pathophysiology. Mutations in this gene are been associated with X-linked mental retardation. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

AT2: Receptor for angiotensin II. Cooperates with MTUS1 to inhibit ERK2 activation and cell proliferation. Defects in AGTR2 are the cause of mental retardation X- linked type 88 (MRX88). Mental retardation is characterized by significantly below average general intellectual functioning associated with impairments in adaptative behavior and manifested during the developmental period. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Product Notes

The AGTR2 agtr2 (Catalog #AAA606129) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Angiotensin II Type 2 Receptor (AT2) (APC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Angiotensin II Type 2 Receptor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Dilution: Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul to label 10e5 cells. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AGTR2 agtr2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Angiotensin II Type 2 Receptor, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
