Immunohistochemistry (IHC: Human hyperplasia prostate was stained with mouse anti AR antibody(cat# MBS460253) at 1:200. Staining of formalin-fixed parafilm embedded (FFPE) tissue requires boiling tissue sections in 10 mM Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0 for 10 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. The positive staining is nuclear localized by using DAB chromogen.)

Related Product Information for anti-AR antibody
The androgen receptor belongs to the nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group C member 4 which is encoded by the Ar (also known as Andr, Nr3c4, Tfm) gene. Androgen receptor (AR) is a hormone-activated transcription regulator that plays important roles in normal prostate development and function, as well as in malignant prostate transformation. The binding of an androgenic hormone (testosterone or dihydrotestosterone) induces a conformational change in AR, resulting its dissociation from heat shock proteins and subsequent translocation from the cytosol to nucleus, where it dimerizes and mediates either transcription activation or repression in a target gene-specific manner. The androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS) or testicular feminization (TFM) is caused by a mutation of the androgen receptor gene located on the X chromosome.

Product Notes

The AR (Catalog #AAA460253) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse anti-Androgen Receptor Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Androgen Receptor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA, Immunoprecipitation (IP), Flow Cytometry (FC),. Western Blot: 0.1-1 ug/ml ELISA: 0.01-0.1 ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 2-5 ug/ml IHC: 2-5 ug/ml Flow cytometry: 5-10 ug/ml Positive Control: Prostate tissue/cells Cellular Location: Nuclear Optimal dilutions should be determined by researchers for the specific applications. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AR for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Androgen Receptor, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
